In the Sepulcher, the Shroud got wet immersed in a pan with myrrh and aloe; without squeezing it, the first half was spread out over the gravestone where the Body of Jesus was deposited: the second half of the Shroud was spread over the Body after closing the eyelids and the sepulcher was closed.

On the Shroud, the gluteus zone, there’s a double register that indicates that the Body was placed in a partial manner, but since the feet overlapped the Shroud, it was taken up immediately lifted to replace Him 8 cm upward and 4 cm toward the right. On the first deposit, the gluteus folding got stamped with blood, and on the second time, the final gluteus stamp appears as a shadow, since there was no more the accumulated blood, and had already been transferred to the wet Holy Shroud in the first deposit.

The double deposit originated the version that the Shroud had a Body stamped whose back seemed very long and legs very short; this apparent disproportion fooled the artists who mistook tridimensional drawn models of the Man on the Shroud, and have been their argument to deny the authenticity of the Shroud.
